Job summary

The University of Tampa is seeking a Coordinator of Competitive Sports to oversee day-to-day operations of the sports program. This role reports to the Assistant Director, Competitive Sports and supports a large student-athlete community within Spartan Ready culture.

Responsibilities include staff supervision, budget management, and policy implementation to ensure safe, engaging activities for 3,500+ participants and 1,240+ club athletes, with evenings and weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; master's preferred in related fields.
• Experience with club/intramural sports and knowledge of program components.
• Officiating experience at high school, recreational, or intramural levels.
• Strong communication with students, faculty and staff; problem solving skills.
• Familiarity with technologies like IMLeagues, Fusion, Connect2Concepts, When2Work; staff management experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist in hiring, training, and supervising multiple student staff and volunteers.
• Manage program finances and fund allocation for club teams and intramurals.
• Coordinate facilities, schedules, and travel policies for programs and events.
• Oversee risk management, safety procedures, and facility operations.
• Develop training for club volunteers, coaches, and officials; ensure policy updates.
