Job summary

Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee is seeking a Coordinator for Community Partnerships to engage the community, raise awareness, and generate support for programs.

The role coordinates traditional and virtual food drives, peer-to-peer fundraising, and signature events, while providing administrative and logistical support. Ideal candidates have strong communication, organization, and fundraising experience in nonprofit settings.

Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma (or equivalent) required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • Experience: 2+ years of related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

Coordinator, Community Partnerships
Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee

Coordinator, Community Partnerships will provide support for engaging the community, raising awareness of and generating support for Second Harvest Food Bank of Middle Tennessee.

This position will coordinate the planning, implementation, tracking, and stewardship of virtual food drives, traditional food drives, and peer-to-peer fundraising efforts, while also providing administrative and logistical support for signature, third-party, and community engagement events.

Job Responsibilities
Traditional Food Drives
  • Coordinate Second Harvest’s traditional food drive program, including registration, materials, logistics, donor communication, and post-drive follow-up.
  • Collaborate with representatives and volunteers from organizations, Partner Agencies, local media, and Second Harvest staff to support large-scale food and fund drives.
  • Help execute major drives such as Nashville Predators Food Drive, Titans Food Drive, Nashville Soccer Club Food Drive, Food 2 Families, Stamp Out Hunger, and other community campaigns.
  • Support planning and implementation of food drives with schools, corporate partners, faith communities, civic groups, and individuals.
  • Maintain accurate records of participating organizations and individuals, including drive results, acknowledgements, and follow-up activities.
  • Prepare monthly food and fund drive reports and assist with analysis to support program improvement and donor stewardship.
  • Represent Second Harvest at food and fund drive events as assigned.
  • Support on-site volunteer coordination for major food drives in partnership with the Volunteer team.
Virtual Food Drives
  • Coordinate Second Harvest’s Virtual Food Drive Program under the direction of the Manager, Community Partnerships.
  • Support outreach, onboarding, and stewardship for virtual food drive participants to encourage participation, retention, and growth.
  • Assist with identifying new virtual food drive opportunities and partnership leads for manager follow-up.
  • Coordinate logistics, communications, tracking, and reporting for large virtual food drives, including campaigns with community and corporate partners.
  • Coordinate peer-to-peer fundraising campaigns, including participant setup, campaign resources, communications, tracking, and follow-up.
  • Provide timely support to fundraisers and teams to help increase engagement, campaign completion, and fundraising results.
  • Monitor campaign progress, maintain participant records, and prepare reports for the Manager, Community Partnerships.
  • Collaborate with Community Engagement, Corporate Engagement, and Marketing & Communications teams to promote peer-to-peer fundraising opportunities.
Signature & Third Party Events
  • Provide event support for signature, third-party, and community partnership events to help increase funds, exposure, and affinity for the food bank and its mission.
  • Assist with event logistics, sponsorship support, volunteer coordination, administrative support, data entry, and in-kind donation tracking for events
  • Support event committees and internal teams by preparing materials, maintaining lists, tracking outreach, and completing follow-up tasks.
  • Help maintain relationships with civic, corporate, faith-based, educational, and other community partners through responsive communication and reliable follow-through.
  • Research local and regional trends, prospects, and community opportunities that may support food drives, fundraising, and event participation.
Community Engagement and Department Support
  • Support community engagement outreach activities tied to Second Harvest’s strategic initiatives, programs, and Partner Agencies, including speaking engagements, facility tours, community fairs, and public events.
  • Provide administrative, logistical, and project support to the Manager, Community Partnerships and the Community Engagement team to further departmental productivity and scope.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate Partnerships team to support relationships with corporate donors and organizations participating in virtual food drives, traditional food drives, peer-to-peer fundraising, and event sponsorships.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Passionate about community service and working knowledge of non-profits.
