Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan seeks a Bereavement Services administrator to manage the overall administration and implementation of bereavement programs, ensuring compliance with Medicare and state regulations. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling, pastoral education, or related field.
• Six months experience in bereavement programs or support activities.
• Current state driver’s license and proof of valid automobile insurance

Provides assistance with issues related to grief and loss, as well as spiritual support and any other counseling services for the client and family in keeping with their desires and belief system.

• Develops a bereavement plan of care that notes the kind of bereavement services to be offered and the frequency of service delivery.
• Provides bereavement services including spiritual support and any other counseling services for the client and family consistent with the bereavement plan of care.
• Coordinates the assessment and delivery of bereavement and grief counseling needs and services (via phone, office visits, home visits, groups and ongoing follow-up) to ensure timely and appropriate services are provided to client/family/caregivers.

Required

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited school in social work, psychology, counseling, pastoral education, or related field.
• Six months experience in bereavement programs or support activities.
• Current state driver’s license and proof of valid automobile insurance

Preferred

• Experience providing support to clients and families dealing with life threatening illness or death.
