Job summary

Atlas Fibre in Northbrook, IL is seeking a skilled CMM Programmer to join our aerospace- and automotive-focused metrology team. You will program Calypso on Zeiss CMMs, verify calibration, and optimize measurement routines.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of hands-on CMM programming experience.
• Proficiency with Zeiss CMM hardware and Calypso software (strongly preferred).
• Expertise in GD&T and interpreting blueprints/CAD models.
• Proven precision measurement capabilities and attention to detail.
• Background in aerospace, aviation, automotive, or composites inspection.
• Bilingual communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Begin by confirming the calibration status of the Zeiss CMM and preparing fixtures and probes.
• Author and optimize Calypso programs for new and existing components, referencing CAD and model-based definitions.
• Decode engineering drawings and apply GD&T to create robust, repeatable measurement routines.
• Execute inspections, validate measurement accuracy, and refine to improve cycle time and reliability.
• Compile data-rich reports and communicate results to Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing to resolve issues quickly.
• Contribute to cross-functional problem-solving and maintain a clean, safe metrology area.
