Job summary

Aksela is offering a Technician CO-OP Sponsorship Program to support students while they pursue their Diesel Technology or related programs. Participants gain paid tuition, hands-on training, and mentorship while working on foundation drilling equipment.

Selected students complete a paid internship in the shop and field, learning diagnostics and repairs, and developing practical skills for a long-term career with Aksela.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or graduation before program start.
  • Enrollment in an approved Diesel Technology, Construction Equipment, Agricultural Equipment, or related program.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through school, hobbies, work, or personal projects.
  • Enjoy solving mechanical problems and working with your hands.
  • Work well independently and as part of a team.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Good attendance and a positive attitude.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Intend to pursue a long-term career with Aksela after graduation.

Responsibilities

  • Combine classroom instruction with hands-on experience in shop and field while attending school.
  • Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair foundation drilling and construction equipment alongside experienced technicians.
  • Assist with troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and engine systems.
  • Learn diagnostic and repair techniques using advanced tools and technology.
  • Participate in technical training and professional development opportunities.
  • Develop safe work habits and follow company policies and procedures.

What You'll Do

  • While attending school, you'll combine classroom instruction with hands‑on experience in both the shop and the field.
  • You'll have the opportunity to:
  • Work alongside experienced technicians inspecting, diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing foundation drilling and construction equipment.
  • Assist with troubleshooting hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, and engine systems.
  • Learn industry‑leading diagnostic and repair techniques using advanced tools and technology.
  • Participate in technical training and professional development opportunities.
  • Develop safe work habits while following company policies and procedures.
  • Represent Aksela professionally at work, school, and within your community.

What We're Looking For

You may be a great fit if you:

  • Have earned your high school diploma (or will graduate prior to program start).
  • Plan to enroll, or are currently enrolled, in an approved Diesel Technology, Construction Equipment, Agricultural Equipment, or related technical program.
  • Have strong mechanical aptitude demonstrated through school, hobbies, work experience, or personal projects.
  • Enjoy solving mechanical problems and working with your hands.
