Job summary

Abbott is seeking engineering students for the UR Program in Puerto Rico, with placements in Arecibo, Barceloneta and Caguas. You will support technical activities in the plants, applying knowledge from mechanical, chemical, computer or industrial engineering studies.

Senior-year students with a minimum 3.0 GPA, strong English/Spanish communication, and readiness to work overtime or weekends are encouraged to apply. Proficiency with Excel and Word is preferred.

Qualifications

• Senior (4th or 5th year) in Mechanical, Chemical, Computer and Industrial Engineering
• Minimum GPA 3.0
• Proficient in Excel and Word; ability to use ERP/PC tools

Responsibilities

• Provide support to Abbott Plants in the Technical Support area.
• Apply knowledge from engineering coursework to real-world plant issues.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assist in projects and daily technical tasks

This is a Pipeline requisition to source students’ candidates for the UR Program in Puerto Rico for: January 2026

The positions will be located in our Abbott Sites in Arecibo, Barceloneta and Caguas.

The incumbents will provide support to Abbott Plants in the Technical Support area providing services based on knowledge acquired during engineering classes.

General requirement(s):

Good verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Knowledge in utilization of software, such as: spreadsheet in Excel, Word, ER and PC literate.

Available to work overtime and weekends, if necessary.

Education requirement(s):

Senior (4th or 5th year) in Mechanical, Chemical, Computer and IndustrialEngineering student

Minimum GPA 3.0
