Responsibilities

• Perform precision electro-mechanical assembly tasks, including cleaning, mechanical assembly, and adhesive application.
• Follow documented procedures and work instructions to assemble cryogenic coolers and sub-assemblies.
• Perform data entry for travelers and WIP tracking systems.
• Perform measurements and test procedures; record results.
• Perform hand soldering of cable harnesses and basic electrical connections.
• Conduct incoming inspection of components using standard measurement tools.
• Support functional testing of sub-assemblies, including motors and other key cooler components.
• Communicate results and issues to engineering and production personnel.
• Maintain lab standards including ESD protocols.

Job Description

Job Summary:

The Cryocooler Technician performs precision mechanical assembly for the cryocooler production line. The Cryocooler Technician also performs the required processes of cleaning, documenting, and testing of parts, subassemblies, and finished goods. This role utilizes production tooling, computers, and specialized equipment required for production and material/WIP tracking, identifies and documents discrepant material, and interacts with co-workers, managers, and the engineering department.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Perform precision electro-mechanical assembly tasks, including cleaning, mechanical assembly, and adhesive application
• Follow documented procedures and work instructions to assemble cryogenic coolers and sub-assemblies
• Perform data entry for travelers and work-in-progress (WIP) tracking systems
• Perform measurements and execute test procedures; accurately record and document results
• Perform hand soldering of cable harnesses and basic electrical connections
• Conduct incoming inspection of components using standard measurement tools and equipment
• Support functional testing of sub-assemblies, including motors and other key cooler components
• Communicate results, observations, and issues to engineering and production personnel
• Maintain lab standards, including adherence to FOD (Foreign Object Debris) and ESD protocols
• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Job Qualifications:

• Strong attention to detail
• Basic computer proficiency, including navigating Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, and Excel)
• Must be able to use a microscope to visually inspect small parts, up to 8 hours a day
• Must be able to read, interpret, and work from equipment manuals, blueprints or sketches
• Must be able to use standard test equipment, such as digital multimeters or gauges
• Must be able to identify and report defects, nonconformances, and process issues
• Able to read, write, and communicate effectively using the English language
• Able to sit or stand for long periods of time, up to 8 hours day
• Able to lift or carry up to 25 lbs., unassisted
• Able to push or pull up to 50 lbs., unassisted

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED
• 0-1 years of electro-mechanical assembly or related experience
• Prior microscope experience - desired
• Prior vocational or technical training - desired

Salary Range:

$44,500.00-$59,300.000

The anticipated salary range listed for this role is only an estimate.
