Job summary

Insomnia Cookies is hiring for a Cookie Crew member at our Washington Navy Yard bakery, located at 1201 Half St. SE Suite 130, Washington, DC 20003.

You will greet guests, take orders, bake cookies, and help with delivery orders while providing a warm, friendly experience. Qualifications

• At least 6 months of experience in a customer service focused role.
• Must be personable, genuine and outgoing.
• Strong communication, organizational and math abilities.
• Legally eligible to work in the United States and able to work nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and take orders according to store procedures.
• Help customers understand menu items and confirm orders for accuracy.
• Provide a warm, friendly experience in person and over the phone.
• Bake cookies to perfection and scoop ice cream as needed.
• Package and send out fast, warm delivery orders.
• Handle cash accurately and maintain correct counts.
• Clean, sanitize, and maintain the bakery.

Insomnia Cookies is one of the fastest growing, late-night, sweet indulgence companies in the country, and at the present time, we are actively interviewing Cookie Crew for our brand new Washington Navy Yard location! This brand new bakery will be located at 1201 Half St. SE Suit 130 Washington, DC 20003. As a member of the Cookie Crew, you are the ultimate Insomniac. Not only are you the point person at the front of the store for interacting with our customers, but you also get to bake all of our awesome Warm and Delicious cookies as well!

WHAT ELSE WILL I DO AS A MEMBER OF THE COOKIE CREW?

• Promptly greet guests entering the store and take their orders according to procedure
• Help customers understand menu items, answer clarifying questions, and repeat orders for accuracy
• Give each customer a warm experience with a smile in person & over the phone
• Bake our delicious cookies to perfection & a scoop of ice cream
• Ensure fast, warm, and correct delivery orders are packaged and sent out
• Handle cash and payments accurately and have no shortages or overages
• Cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining the bakery

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• At least 6 months of experience in a customer service focused role - preferred
• Personable, genuine, outgoing demeanor
• Customer service focused and a willingness to exceed guest expectations
• Great communication, organizational and math skills
• Must be able to lift up to 40 lb boxes of product
• Must be 18 years or older to be employed
• Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays
