Job Summary

The Cooker Operator is responsible for operating PLC machinery, monitoring pumps and grinders to ensure quality assurance. This position is for the 1st shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct yourself in a safe and controlled manner.
• Blow grease lines as required.
• Clean up by shoveling floors, hosing down machinery, and using wheelbarrows and PITs.
• Operate the cooking process within specified parameters.
• Document plant operations according to GMP standards.
• Report issues or maintenance needs to the shift manager.
• Attend all safety meetings.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• At least two years of experience in a rendering or production environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Dependable and reliable; able to work nights and weekends as needed.

Physical Demands

• Require walking, standing, sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crawling, and crouching.
• Stand for up to 8 hours and occasionally work 12-hour shifts.
• Lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
• Reach with hands and arms regularly.
• Work 40-60 hours per week.

Work Environment

• Work in hot or cold environments (100°F to 45°F), outdoors in all seasons.
• Handle odors from animal by-products.
