Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

  • The Cook is responsible for dividing the food (breakfast and lunch) into serving dishes for classrooms.
  • Responsibilities include but are not limited to; providing a clean safe and secure environment by cleaning the kitchen, sweep the floors, mop, windows, laundry, as well as maintaining positive relations and communications with families, partnership agencies and program staff.
  • Ensures that the cleanliness of the kitchen meets program standards as well as Oklahoma Department of Human Service Licensing Regulations, N.A.E.Y.C. guideline, Oklahoma City/County Health Department and the Federal School Lunch licensing regulations.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High school diploma.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Possess a command of spoken and written English to serve as a language role model.
  • Must be certified by the Red Cross in PR/CPR, AED, O2, and First Aid.
  • Obtain Food Handlers Certification and update as needed.
  • Follow Child Abuse Report Guidelines.
  • Meet all Health Department Guidelines.
  • Meet all Oklahoma Department of Human Service Licensing Regulations.
  • Minimum of 6 months experience working in a kitchen.
  • Excellent organizational skills required.
  • Ability to provide a positive, nurturing environment for children required.
  • Ability to be flexible in assignment and work hours.
  • Ability to provide superior customer service required.
