The Role

A Cook is responsible for the food preparation, execution, and delivery of safely handled food to customer-facing employees for service.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a friendly, positive attitude and a professional demeanor at all times.
  • Report for scheduled events on time and report to the assigned area promptly.
  • Fulfill opening and closing duties as assigned.
  • Coordinate with supervisors for prep lists and daily task timelines.
  • Execute assigned tasks in a timely and safe manner using correct recipes.
  • Maintain cleanliness of walk-in coolers, reach-ins, dry storage, and all work areas.
  • Have extensive knowledge of all menus, including specials.
  • Communicate effectively with Supervisors, Attendants, Runners, Chefs, and Management.
  • Work as part of a team with fellow associates and other service departments.
  • Pay attention to detail to exceed expectations.
  • Keep the kitchen clean, sanitary, and organized.
  • Complete closing duties and check out with the manager/supervisor.
  • Be familiar with the layout of the kitchen and back-of-house areas, including emergency exits and facilities.
  • Be aware of other food and beverage outlets within the venue.
  • Be flexible to work at different locations as needed.
  • Work a flexible schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED; culinary arts degree or certification preferred.
  • 2-4 years of experience in a fast-paced restaurant, catering, or relevant food service environment.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, organized, and able to prioritize tasks.
  • Maintain high sanitation standards and personal hygiene.
  • Able to work under pressure and adapt quickly to changes.
  • Punctual and dependable.
  • Ability to read and understand recipes, prep lists, and signage.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Proficient in speaking and reading English.
  • Capable of moving quickly, standing for long periods, lifting at least 30 pounds, and working in a fast-paced environment.

Additional Requirements:

  • Practice safe work habits and follow safety policies and procedures.
  • Complete safety training as required.
