Axess Family Services, Inc. is seeking a part-time Cook for the Veterans Services, Valor Home Summit program in Akron, OH. This role supports a busy kitchen, preparing meals for up to 30 veterans and collaborating with program staff to ensure nutritious, quality food.

The position requires ServSafe Certification, a valid Ohio driver’s license, and the ability to meet background check requirements. Schedule is generally Mon-Fri with some weekend work.

Schedule: Determined on a case by case basis; Monday-Friday with Occasional weekends

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

Manages a busy kitchen providing good quality meals for the Veteran’s therapeutic community. Works in collaboration with other cook and program staff to ensure quality, nutritious meals are served up to 30 veterans

• 2. Orders and monitors supplies to ensure efficient operation.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Experience in Nutrition. Demonstrated experience in managing a busy kitchen including setting menus, ordering supplies and preparing meals.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must be able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 10 lbs. Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods during the work day.
