Qualifications

  • Line Cook II experience or equivalent (6 months in high-volume kitchens).
  • Basic knowledge of all kitchen production areas.
  • Knowledge of ServeSafe HACCP food sanitation program.

The Grand Hotel at The Grand Canyon - the only 3-diamond hotel in Tusayan, Arizona - has 121 standard and deluxe rooms, a retail store, and the Canyon Star Steakhouse and Saloon. We’re hiring cooks to Live. Work. Explore. just one mile from the entrance to the iconic south rim of Grand Canyon National Park!

Job Summary:
Cooks are responsible for preparing meals and following establishment recipes. Duties include cooking, cleaning, assisting other cooks and staff, and delivering quality food in a fast-paced environment. Work will include operating a grill, oven, and fryer. Must follow food health and safety procedures.

The Details:
Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round
Season Dates: 7/15/2025
Pay: $17.30 per hour
Schedule: Typically 40 hours, 5 days per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the quality, food safety, sanitation, and timeliness of dishes served.
  • Maintain consistency in techniques for proper food preparation, portioning, and plating as per recipes, product rotation, and mise en place.
  • Prepare a variety of food items using knives, mixers, ovens, fryers, gas stoves, griddles, and broilers.
Qualifications
  • Line Cook II experience or equivalent (at least 6 months in high-volume kitchens)
  • Basic knowledge of all kitchen production areas
  • Safe knife handling skills and knowledge of cutting styles
  • Knowledge of ServeSafe HACCP food sanitation program and ability to apply it

Physical requirements include:

  • Constantly carry 10-20 lbs
  • Frequently stand, walk, reach, squat/kneel, bend, carry up to 50 lbs, push/pull up to 25 lbs
  • Occasionally sit, climb, crawl, and lift/carry over 100 lbs.
