Job Description

The Steakhouse Cook is responsible for safely preparing food items according to menu specifications and standard recipes, ensuring high-quality presentation for guests across all outlets.

  1. Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and menu to ensure consistency.
  2. Maintain a professional and positive image at all times.
  3. Create order lists for recipe preparations.
  4. Communicate effectively with team members, including Cooks and Sous Chefs.
  5. Train lower-level Cooks on equipment use.
  6. Read recipes and gather necessary ingredients.
  7. Cook, prepare, and assemble food items for service.
  8. Adhere to food cost and quality control procedures.
  9. Perform side work, including restocking supplies.
  10. Ensure station cleanliness and proper setup before, during, and after shifts.
  11. Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines.
  12. Work in different kitchen stations such as Sauté, Broiler, Pantry, Pasta, Grill, etc.
  13. Prepare hot and cold sauces.
  14. Perform duties with a high level of accuracy and speed.
  15. Handle delicate equipment requiring fine motor skills.
  16. Operate kitchen equipment like slicers, steamers, fryers, ovens, and grills.
  17. Lift or move goods weighing up to 150 lbs.
  18. Perform tasks involving bending, stooping, kneeling, standing, and walking.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in food preparation and knowledge.
  • Ability to perform all cooking duties.
  • Knowledge of sauce preparation.
  • Basic reading and math skills for recipes and measurements.
  • Familiarity with at least two kitchen stations and some knowledge of two others.
  • Basic knife skills.
  • Knowledge of MSDS procedures.
  • Ability to complete required state or company certifications.
  • Culinary education is encouraged but not required.
