Work Hours

7:00 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. / 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Salary Range

$15.31 - $18.62

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
  • Food Service experience preferred.
  • Certification by the Calhoun County Health Department is preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop effective working relationships with students and staff is required.
  • Ability to operate a cash register and count change.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies is required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate specialized food service equipment.
  • Ensure the quality and safety of all food served.
  • Uphold the highest standards of customer service and student confidentiality.
  • Assist in food production, service and/or cleanup tasks as assigned.
  • Receive and unpack food and supplies.
  • Clean and maintain food service equipment and facilities.
  • Participate in ongoing professional training.
  • Observe safety and security procedures; report potentially unsafe conditions.
  • Regular, dependable attendance is a critical performance factor to ensure consistent, high quality customer service is required.
  • Other reasonable duties as assigned.
Language Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before staff, students, and community members.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. With special attention to the measurement of size vs weight when communicating serving size. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
