Job description

Dining Services Cook | Nourishment, Comfort & Hospitality

Wellspring Skilled Nursing & Rehab – Fairview | Full-Time, on-site | Hourly $14.50 - $16.10 | Accepting applications until September 7, 2026.

You became a cook because food has the power to bring people together. You understand that a meal is never just a meal. It's comfort. It's routine. It's a sense of home. It's often one of the moments residents look forward to most each day. In skilled nursing, food plays an even bigger role. A favorite breakfast can brighten someone's morning. A familiar recipe can bring back a cherished memory. A thoughtfully prepared meal can provide strength for rehabilitation, support healing, and improve quality of life. You know that the work happening in the kitchen matters far beyond the kitchen itself.

What Your Impact Will Look Like
  • You’ll prepare nutritious, appetizing meals that support resident health, recovery, and overall well-being.
  • You’ll carefully prepare therapeutic and modified-texture diets to ensure every resident receives meals that are both safe and enjoyable.
  • You’ll take pride in following recipes, menus, and food safety standards while maintaining the highest quality possible.
  • You’ll work closely with fellow dining services team members to ensure meals are prepared and served on time and according to resident preferences whenever possible.
  • You’ll help maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment that supports safety, infection prevention, and excellent dining services.
  • You’ll recognize that every meal you prepare contributes to a resident's comfort, health, and quality of life.
  • Some days you’ll be preparing breakfast for residents beginning their day. Other days you’ll be creating meals that support rehabilitation and recovery, accommodating specialized diets, or simply serving the comfort foods that make residents smile.
  • Every day, your work will help nourish both body and spirit.
The Person We're Looking For
  • You believe food is one of the most meaningful ways to care for others.
  • You take pride in preparing meals that are both nutritious and enjoyable.
  • You understand the importance of consistency, quality, and food safety.
  • You enjoy working as part of a team that serves others.
  • You are dependable, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • You understand that hospitality and compassion belong in healthcare just as much as they do in a restaurant.
What You'll Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to two years of cooking experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety practices, sanitation standards, and HACCP principles is helpful.
  • Experience preparing special diets or modified-texture meals is a plus.
  • Ability to work efficiently while maintaining attention to detail and quality.
  • A passion for serving others through food and hospitality.
