Job summary

Barre Gardens in Barre, VT is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our skilled nursing facility. The Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking meals in accordance with planned menus, standardized recipes, special diet orders, and established food safety and portion control procedures.

This role emphasizes teamwork in a fast-paced kitchen and delivering quality meals to residents. Rate up to $24/hour with Full-Time, Part-Time and PRN shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous cooking or dietary experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and special diet orders.
• Follow standardized recipes and proper portion control procedures.
• Assist with meal production and ensure meals are prepared and served in a timely manner.
• Maintain proper food safety and sanitation standards.
• Clean and maintain kitchen equipment, work areas, and storage areas.
• Follow all dietary, sanitation, and infection control policies.
• Assist with meal service and other dietary department duties as needed.
