Cook - Restaurant 202108 - 6001 Miller Road, Columbus, GA 31907 (Finance)

Reports To (Title): Restaurant General Manager

Department: Field Operations

Job Objective

To prepare and cook food products as specified by the Manager in Charge of the Shift while adhering to the specifications and procedures in the Cooking Section of the Church's Operating Standards Manual (the "OSM"). Tasks should be completed in a timely, clean, and orderly manner.

Essential Job Functions
Primary Functions:
  • Set up the batter table, gather smallwares, and prepare batter mix.
  • Ensure call sheets are complete, posted, and utilized.
  • Check all equipment and report malfunctions immediately to the Manager in Charge.
  • Balance fryer colors and maintain proper shortening levels.
  • Filter and clean fryers at scheduled times, following all safety guidelines.
  • Pans sufficient chicken for operational needs.
  • Prepare and cook food as directed by the Manager in Charge, meeting quality standards and following holding time guidelines.
Secondary Functions:
  • Maintain a clean work area using "clean-as-you-go" practices, following sanitation and safety protocols.
  • Ensure all necessary products and supplies are stocked at the batter area.
  • Keep the cooler organized and clean.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Manager in Charge.
Physical Demands

Lifting requirements include medium to heavy lifting up to 50 pounds frequently and 75 pounds occasionally. The cook must be able to:

  • Stand and walk continuously for up to 8 hours.
  • Lift and stack 35-50 pounds of items, occasionally carrying up to 75 pounds.
  • Lift and carry trash bags weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Push or pull equipment and supplies regularly.
  • Climb stools or ladders to reach high shelves.
  • Stooping, squatting, reaching, and handling various items continuously.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and customers.
