Job summary

Central Florida Behavioral Hospital in Orlando is seeking a Dietary Aide to prepare and serve meals for patients and staff under the direction of the Dietary Director. This role supports daily operations in a 174-bed behavioral health setting.

You will follow production sheets, ensure meals meet presentation and temperature standards, assist with menus and substitutions, and help maintain a clean dining environment while delivering compassionate service.

Qualifications

• Background check required (Level 2).
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Food Handler's Certification preferred (can be obtained on hire).
• 1 year of experience in a behavioral health facility preferred.
• Willingness to cooperate with others and attend orientations.
• Reliable and able to be at work as scheduled.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

The overall functions of this position are to prepare and serve regular and special diets to patients and employees under the supervision of the Dietary Director.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

• Follows production sheets for preparation of current and future meals;


• Ensures food presentation is pleasant and food temperatures are approprate on the serving line and in food storage areas;


• Follows published menus and completes substituion schedule when necessary;


• Serves patients


• Conducts meal clean-up: ensuring floor is swept, tables and dishes are properly cleaned and mopping is completed;

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred;


• Food Handler's Certification required (can be obtained upon hire);


• (1) year experience in a behavioral health facility highly preferred;


• Demonstrates a willingness to cooperate with others;

• Must be available to attend the full hospital and departmental orientations: Week 1: M-F 8 AM - 5 PM
