Job summary

Arden Courts Richmond in Midlothian, VA is seeking a Cook to prepare appetizing and nutritious meals for our residents and assist the Culinary Services Coordinator in managing food service functions.

You will contribute to a clean, safe and comfortable dining environment and bring tact, sensitivity and professionalism to ensure high-quality service for our residents, including those with dementia. PRN schedule with comprehensive benefits is offered.

Qualifications

• Must have basic reading and writing skills and clear English communication.
• Prior experience in food preparation is required.
• Knowledge/experience with elderly residents and dementia preferred.
• Food Service Sanitation certificate per state/local requirements.

Requirements

Education: High School diploma or equivalent
Skills: Basic reading and writing skills, and ability to speak English in an understandable manner
Years of Experience: Previous experience in food preparation required; Knowledge and experience in working with elderly & previous dementia experience preferred
Certification: Food Service Sanitation certificate according to State/Local requirements

Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and squat for prolonged periods; Be able to easily lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds
