Job summary

Jimmy Jazz is seeking a part-time cook to follow menus and prepare meats, fish, poultry, gravies, cereals, soups, vegetables and other foods. You will clean kitchens and dining areas and ensure proper serving of meals.

The role requires strict adherence to sanitation, safety, and recipes while coordinating with meal times. The ideal candidate will read, write and speak English fluently, demonstrate strong ethics, and handle practical problems in a fast-paced food service environment.

Qualifications

Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Follows a menu to prepare and cook meats, fish, poultry, gravies, cereals, soups, vegetables and other food according to proper preparation methods. Prepares and cleans kitchen and dining areas.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Serves or ensures proper serving of food for tray line or dining room.
• Complies with established sanitation standards, personal hygiene and health standards.
• Observes proper food preparation and handling techniques.
• Stores food properly and safely, marking the date and item.
• Reports necessary equipment repair and maintenance to supervisor.
• Correctly prepares all food served following standard recipes and special diet orders.
• Plans food production to coordinate with meal serving hours so that excellence, quality, temperature and appearance of food are preserved.
• Apportions food for serving.
• Keeps work area neat and clean at all times; cleans and maintains equipment used in food preparation.
• Completes food temperature checks before service.
• Other duties and tasks as assigned.
