Job summary

Palm Point Behavioral Health is seeking a PRN Cook to support patient nutrition and dining services in Titusville, FL. You will prepare and cook meals according to menus, coordinate leftovers usage, and help maintain high standards of food handling and cleanliness in the kitchen.

You will work collaboratively with staff to ensure timely meal service for patients, visitors and employees, while following safety and sanitation guidelines and inventory control procedures.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalency preferred.
• 2 years experience preferred.
• Safe Serve Certification Required.

Responsibilities

• Prepares, seasons, and cooks food for patients, staff, visitors, and special functions. Uses cook chill or conventional cooking methods to prepare quality foods for patients/cafeteria to achieve customer satisfaction.
• Reviews menus to determine types and quantities of food. Participates in the process of ordering supplies. Avoids waste, uses resources effectively. Labels and dates prepared food prior to storage.
• Prepares quality food in sufficient quantities to cover all service requirements. Use batch cooking methods as appropriate to ensure quality and minimize waste. Utilizes leftovers as appropriate.

Education

Palm Point Behavioral Health is recruiting for a PRN Cook. The Cook is responsible for maintaining principles of proper food production and other related activities. Prepares and cooks foods according to menu; confers with supervisors as to use of leftovers; making menu changes, as necessary. Responsible for accurate inventory. Maintains high standards of food handling and cleanliness in work area, and is responsible for high standards of personal cleanliness. Works together with the employees of the department to provide optimal food, nutritional and environmental services to the patients, visitors, and staff to ensure the healing and well-being of each individual. Performs a variety of tasks that facilitate the provision of food services and nutrition support to patients, employees and visitors.
