Job summary

Shreveport Rehabilitation Hospital is seeking a food service professional to prepare and serve meals for patients, staff, and events in a hospital setting. The role requires safe handling, proper temperatures, and attractive presentation while maintaining a clean work area.

The position offers flexible weekday/weekend shifts, with pay based on experience and qualifications. Ideal candidates have six months of food prep experience and a Food Handlers Certificate, with therapeutic-diet experience

Qualifications

• Food Handlers Certificate (If required by Local City, County or State)
• Experience with therapeutic diet preparation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepares and serves food using proper handling and food safety techniques for patients, employees, and events.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment in accordance with established standards.
• Supports meal service for patients, employees and special events while adhering to schedule.
• Works with team to ensure meals are served at correct temperatures and presentation is attractive.

Job description

Prepares and serves food using proper food handling and food safety techniques for patients, employees and special events, resulting in foods that taste good, are served at the proper temperature, and in an attractive manner in accordance with established standards. Maintains a clean and safe working environment in accordance with established standards.

Schedule:

This position requires flexibility to work a combination of weekdays and weekends. Candidates should have open availability to accommodate varying schedules.

Pay

Rate of pay is based on years of experience and qualifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Six months’ experience in quantity food preparation.
• Food Handlers Certificate (If required by Local City, County or State)

Desired Qualification:

• Experience with therapeutic diet preparation preferred.
