Job summary

Keswick is seeking a PRN Cook to support on-call dining operations in Baltimore, MD. The role requires flexibility to cover weekends and other shifts as needed, with 18–20 USD hourly pay based on experience.

The Cook will prepare meals to standard recipes, ensure safety and quality, and help maintain a clean, organized kitchen while collaborating with staff in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience as a cook or in a similar food preparation role.
• Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform kitchen tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and quality standards.
• Assist in receiving, storing, and rotating food supplies to maintain freshness and minimize waste.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including equipment and workstations.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure a safe dining environment.
• Collaborate with kitchen team members to manage workload and ensure timely meal service.
• Adapt to varying schedules and provide coverage during peak times or staff shortages.
• Monitor inventory levels and communicate needs to management as necessary.

About the Role:

The Cook plays a vital role in preparing and delivering high-quality meals on an as-needed basis, ensuring that all food served meets established standards of taste, presentation, and safety. This position requires flexibility and adaptability to work varying shifts and respond promptly to staffing needs, supporting kitchen operations without a fixed schedule. The Cook PRN collaborates closely with kitchen staff to maintain cleanliness, organization, and efficient workflow in a fast-paced environment. Attention to detail and adherence to food safety regulations are paramount to guarantee customer satisfaction and compliance with health standards. Ultimately, this role contributes to the overall dining experience by consistently producing delicious and well-prepared meals whenever called upon.
