Job summary

Oak Plains Academy (UHS Company) in Ashland City, Tennessee, is a 98-bed residential treatment program providing psychiatric care to children and adolescents. The Cook position is PRN as needed to support meals within the campus kitchen and dining areas.

Responsibilities include meal prep and service following dietary guidelines, collaborating with dietary staff on menus, and maintaining sanitation and inventory. A background check and orientation are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Driver's License or valid photo state ID.
• Must be the age of 21 years old or over.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and food guidelines.
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with staff and residents.
• Must attend the two-week orientation classes, Monday through Friday.

Oak Plains Academy (UHS Company) is a comprehensive and highly structured 98-bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents, struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Residents receive an individualized treatment plan, geared to meet their personal needs. A professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers serve hundreds of children and adolescents annually with the common goal of treating and healing trauma and building resiliency in the residents we serve. Located in Ashland City on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, Oak Plains Academy campus features a full-size gymnasium, dining hall, separate academic building, and four dormitories.
