A leading health organization seeks a Cook to prepare food in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities include food preparation and ensuring a high standard of cleanliness and organization. Candidates should have prior cooking experience, communication skills, and the ability to multitask effectively while under pressure.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: |
* Prepares food, sauces and cold sandwiches for service. Including tasks such as chopping vegetables, using commercial meat slicer, and preparing sauces. Cook Breakfast Sandwiches * Ensure timely preparation of all food items for service * Effective communication with team members and supervisors * Maintain cleanliness and organization of their station throughout preparation and service * Ability to multitask in a high volume environment and being able to put out quality food while keeping your composer |
Qualifications: |
* Food preparation * Qualifying Certificate in Food Protection (NYC Food Handlers) not required but encouraged |

Work Environment: |
Diverse, fast-paced, deadline driven, multi-project coordination, prioritizing and flexing to accommodate last minute requests and changes. |

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand; walk; sit; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Preferred Education and Experience: |
* Prior experience as a cook required, Min. 6months experience. * Knowledge of kitchen sanitation and operation and maintenance of kitchen equipment. * Basic knowledge of food preparation techniques. * Must be familiar with all phases and operations of the kitchen. min 16.50, mid. 17.50 max 18.50 |
