Job summary

Dignity Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Henderson, NV is seeking a per diem Cook to join our inpatient dining team. You will prepare meals for patients, staff and guests, while upholding strict sanitation and safety standards in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Role requires one year of cooking experience; a HS diploma or equivalent is preferred, with culinary arts or food safety training desirable. Per diem status offers flexible scheduling within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality food for patients, staff and guests and may assist with general cleaning of cooking and eating areas.
• In the absence of the Manager, supervise the dietary staff and ensure compliance with sanitation, safety and infection control policies.
• Accept verbal and written instructions.
• Provide high quality food preparation and service.
• Maintain equipment and ensure proper portion control.
• Demonstrate initiative to identify problems and implement positive, sustainable solutions.

You will prepare foods for patients, staff, and guests, and may assist with general cleaning of the cooking and eating areas. In the absence of the Manager, the Cook supervises the dietary staff, ensuring that our facility and departmental policies and procedures are adhered to, and that proper sanitation, safety and infection control policies are being followed.
