Job summary

Deerfield Ridge Assisted Living is seeking a Cook who enjoys preparing meals, working with a team, and making a positive impact on residents. You’ll help prepare and serve meals that are fresh, appealing, and made with care, contributing to a welcoming dining experience and high-quality service for our residents.

Qualifications

• Must maintain ServSafe certificate or be able to participate in training to become ServSafe certified.
• High School diploma or GED accepted.
• Culinary apprenticeship or training preferred.
• One year of food preparation experience with full menu items.
• Must be 16 years or older; in NC, 18+ for operating power-driven machines.
• Three years of experience in healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred.
• Culinary arts experience preferred.
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred.
• Ability to work in a resident-centered, team-focused environment.
• Ability to work well with others and promote a positive dining team.

Responsibilities

• Learn basic tasks and follow written and verbal instructions.

• Maintains a current ServSafe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified
• High School diploma or GED accepted
• A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred
• One (1) year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets
• Must be 16 years or older. In NC, must be 18 years or older if operating power-driven machines such as a meat slicer, mixer, etc.
• Three years’ experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred
• Culinary arts experience preferred
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred
• Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others
• Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment
