Job summary

Dalton Square in Dalton, GA, is seeking cooks to assist in the preparation, oversight, and serving of meals in our Assisted Living and Memory Care Community.

Cooks will deliver top-notch food service and play a critical role in resident satisfaction by applying culinary and managerial skills in a high-quality environment. This is a Part-Time opportunity on a great team, with Tapcheck pay integration and benefits described below.

Qualifications

• ServSafe certification required or able to participate in training to obtain it.
• High School diploma or GED accepted.
• Culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred.
• One year job-related experience including food preparation and therapeutic diets.
• Must be 16 years or older; in NC, 18+ for operating certain machines.
• Three years' experience in healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred.
• Culinary arts experience preferred.
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred.
• Ability to work in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare palatable foods that are appetizing in appearance.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitary requirements.
• Learn basic tasks and follow written and verbal instructions.
• Be pleasant, friendly and helpful at all times ensuring proper and timely service.

• Maintains a current ServSafe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified
• High School diploma or GED accepted
• A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred
• One (1) year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets
• Must be 16 years or older. In NC, must be 18 years or older if operating power-driven machines such as a meat slicer, mixer, etc.
• Three years' experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred
• Culinary arts experience preferred
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred
• Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others
• Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment
