Job summary

Dalton Square seeks part-time cooks to assist in preparation, oversight, and serving of meals in a high-quality Assisted Living and Memory Care community. You will employ culinary and managerial skills to maintain resident satisfaction and deliver top-notch food service.

This role is part-time and involves joining a great team in serving residents. Dalton Square emphasizes using Tapcheck payroll technology for earned wages onboarding and payment flexibility.

Qualifications

• Maintains a ServSafe certificate or ability to participate in sanitation training to become ServSafe certified.
• High School diploma or GED accepted.
• A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred.
• One year job related experience including food preparation and therapeutic diets preferred.
• Three years' experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare palatable foods that are appetizing in appearance.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitary requirements.
• Learn basic tasks and follow written/verbal instructions.
• Be pleasant, friendly and helpful to ensure proper and timely service.

Requirements

• Maintains a current ServSafe certificate (food services sanitation certificate) or able to participate in the food services sanitation training to become ServSafe certified
• High School diploma or GED accepted
• A culinary apprenticeship or training is preferred
• One (1) year job related experience including food preparation, full-line menu items and therapeutic diets
• Must be 16 years or older. In NC, must be 18 years or older if operating power-driven machines such as a meat slicer, mixer, etc.
• Three years' experience in a healthcare, hospitality or service environment preferred
• Culinary arts experience preferred
• CPR & First-Aid certifications preferred
• Ability to work in an environment conducive to caring for residents without posing a substantial safety or health threat to self or others
• Ability to work well with others and promote a team environment
