Job Description

We are looking for a Cook to join our team and prepare delicious meals for our senior living residents, their families, and guests. Reporting to the Director of Culinary Services, the Cook's responsibilities include studying recipes, setting up menus, and preparing high-quality dishes. Familiarity with sanitation regulations is essential. The Cook will also be responsible for accurate record keeping, receiving, rotating, inventory management, and regulatory compliance. Ultimately, this team member will prepare and deliver a complete menu that delights our senior living community.

Part-time

Starting pay rate: $18-$20

Responsibilities And Duties

1. Prepare and serve quality meals
2. Ensure special dietary needs are met and prepare texture-modified foods as directed
3. Ensure compliance with all record-keeping, food safety, and risk management requirements
4. Monitor food preparation, storage, and handling to ensure adherence with HACCP, labeling, and storage protocols
5. Maintain accurate temperature logs for hot and cold foods, refrigerators, and freezers

Qualifications

1. Maintain a current ServSafe certification or be able to obtain one
2. At least one year of relevant experience, including food preparation, full-line menu items, and special diets
3. High school diploma or GED
4. Strong organizational and time management skills, with good judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities

Physical Abilities

1. Ability to stand, walk, sit, use fine and gross motor skills, reach, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell
2. Ability to lift or carry up to 50 lbs using proper body mechanics
