Ecumen Brooks in Owatonna, Minnesota, is hiring a Part-Time Cook to prepare, cook and serve meals while recognizing resident dietary needs. The role maintains clean work areas and follows facility policies with a high level of service.

Schedule: Part-Time—every other weekend and select weekdays; pay ranges from $18.00 to $21.00 per hour. Benefits include Sick & Safe Time and a 6% 401(k) match, with Serv Safe certification preferred and prior kitchen experience valued.

Qualifications

• Must be able to prepare, cook and serve meals per recipes and dietary needs.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families and staff.
• Follow all safety, health and facility policies and procedures.
• Experience with commercial kitchen equipment preferred.

• Coordinates with team for special events and staffing needs.
• Prepares appropriate meals for special diets and accommodates resident requests.
• Practices proper safety and sanitation.
• Collaborates well with others in a dynamic environment.
• Performs additional duties as assigned.

The Cook is responsible for proper food prep, cooking and service of food while recognizing special diets, resident's dietary needs and requests. This position maintains work areas in proper order and follows established policies and procedures of the facility while demonstrating high levels of service.

Ecumen Brooks consists of 38 assisted living rental apartment homes, as well as 12 additional residences for seniors requiring memory care services and is located in Owatonna, Minnesota. Schedule:

Part-Time. Work every other Saturday and Sunday 6:30am-2pm, every other Monday 6:30am-3pm, and every other Wednesday 10:30am-7pm.

Pay:

The targeted pay range for this job is $18.00 - $21.00 per hour. Ecumen considers a variety of factors when determining new hire pay including experience, qualifications, and, when applicable, certifications, licenses, and education.

Minimum Required Qualifications:

• Must be 16 years of age or older
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written
• Ability to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the facility including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident's Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to know, SDS, ADA, HUD Policy and Procedures, Fair Housing laws and regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Commercial kitchen experience
• Knowledge of kitchen equipment
• Previous senior care experience
• Serv Safe certification or equivalent
• Certified Food Protection Manager
