Pyramid Healthcare in Gastonia, NC is seeking a dependable Part-Time Cook to join Freedom Detox with Pyramid Healthcare. You will prepare nutritious, high-quality meals for 18-22 clients per meal in a supportive healthcare environment, following established menus and dietary requirements.

This position offers approximately 25 hours per week with flexible daytime hours, no evenings, and the opportunity to work independently while being part of a compassionate team that supports recovery.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and kitchen safety.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
• Ensure meals are prepared on time while maintaining quality and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen following food safety standards.
• Follow portion control guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Prepare meals that accommodate special dietary needs when required.
• Monitor and document food and equipment temperatures.
• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Receive, rotate, and properly store food and supplies.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Maintain excellent customer service when interacting with clients and team members.

Freedom Detox with Pyramid Healthcare is looking for a dependable and customer-focused Part-Time Cook to join our team in Gastonia, NC. What You'll Do

As our Cook, you will be responsible for preparing nutritious, high-quality meals while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized kitchen.

Responsibilities include:

• Prepare, cook, and serve meals according to established menus, recipes, and dietary requirements.
• Ensure meals are prepared on time while maintaining quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in accordance with food safety standards.
• Follow portion control guidelines and standardized recipes.
• Prepare meals that accommodate special dietary needs when required.
• Monitor and document food and equipment temperatures.
• Wash, sanitize, and properly store dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
• Receive, rotate, and properly store food and supplies.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely and report maintenance concerns promptly.
• Maintain excellent customer service when interacting with clients, visitors, and fellow team members.
• Complete required cleaning tasks and documentation.
• Participate in required training and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, sanitation, and kitchen safety.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

• Five (5) years of kitchen or commercial food service experience.
• Experience working in healthcare, behavioral health, or institutional food service.
• ServSafe Certification (or willingness to obtain after hire).
