Job description

Columbus Healthcare Center, a member of the CommuniCare Family of Companies, is currently recruiting for Part-Time Cooks to join our team.

12:30-8:00 PM Shift Available

Purpose/Belief Statement:

The position of Cook exists to provide routine support in the Culinary Department. This position must work effectively with team members to ensure work is accomplished in a timely, effective, and safe manner. The role also involves managing available resources efficiently.

Job Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Perform all aspects of food preparation and service for residents as required.
  2. Manage all functions of culinary preparation, execution, and serving according to established menus and recipes.
  3. Maintain established meal times by preparing all items on time.
  4. Maintain all necessary records and documentation.
  5. Label, date, cover, and store all food items properly.
  6. Control food and material waste.
  7. Ensure compliance with all sanitary and food preparation procedures.
  8. Record refrigerator and freezer temperatures and take corrective actions if temperatures are incorrect.
  9. Clean and monitor all kitchen and food preparation equipment to ensure proper operation and quality.
  10. Ensure food preparation accuracy, timeliness, presentation, and proper temperatures for all food items.
  11. Assist the Culinary Director with kitchen operations as assigned.
  12. Create a clean, comfortable, and safe environment, delivering the highest quality of nutritional care.
  13. Maintain compliance with departmental, center, and corporate policies, objectives, quality improvement programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
  14. Attend and participate in scheduled training, educational classes, and orientation programs to enhance quality of care.
  15. Perform other related activities as assigned or requested.
Qualifications & Experience Requirements
