Job summary

Sandhill Cove in Palm City, Florida is seeking a Line Cook to join our newly renovated kitchen. The position offers a 40-hour work week with weekend shifts and competitive compensation starting at $21 per hour based on experience.

You will work under the culinary team, uphold high standards of cleanliness and food quality, and collaborate with dietary staff and the Executive Chef to ensure accurate production and responsive resident service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; culinary degree preferred.
• Minimum four years of restaurant/senior living cooking experience.
• Ability to prepare meals and maintain quality and presentation.

Responsibilities

• Exemplify cleanliness and sanitation standards at all times.
• Adhere to food quality, appearance and presentation standards.
• Prepare menu cycle programs meeting nutritional criteria as required by local regulations.
• Handle health center daily meals and transport food boxes.
• Coordinate with dietary staff and executive chef on production sheets.
• Maintain speed, accuracy and efficiency in cooking.
• Assist with serving meals and ware washing.
• Visit residents to evaluate food service and adjust operations.
• Represent the community warmly to residents and guests.
• Support revenue and occupancy through engaged teamwork.

Job description

Sandhill Cove in Palm City, Florida is looking to add to our culinary department. LCS Sandhill Cove has been named JD Power’s #1 in senior living customer satisfaction 7 years in a row. The culinary team is looking for a Line Cook for our newly renovated kitchen. Compensation is competitive and based on experience ($21+ hr). Great position for work/life balance.

Daily responsibilities of a Cook

• Exemplify at all times Community standards of cleanliness, sanitation and operational organization.
• Responsible for adhering to food quality, appearance and presentation standards at all times.
• Produce and serve menu cycle programs that are compliant with required Nutritional/Dietary criteria as required by local regulations and correctly prepare diets provided per Policy and Procedure.
• Responsible for health center daily meals and transporting food boxes to and from health center.
• Works in partnership with Dietary staff and Executive Chef assuring accurate daily oversight of production sheets and menu tracker system updating.
• Exhibit cooking standards of speed, accuracy, and efficiency.
• Demonstrate knowledge in all areas of cooking preparation and production.
• Assist with serving meals and ware washing as necessary.
• Visit residents periodically to evaluate food service such as quality, quantity, temperature, and appearance; and conduct evaluations to make revisions in operations/procedures to promote improved food service.
• Represent the community in a warm and inviting manner, which creates a positive environment.
• Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.

Shift

Full time 40 hours per week including weekend days.

Sunday - 8:00 am - 4:30 pm

Other work days - 11 am - 8:00 pm

Days Off will be Thursday & Friday
