Job summary

The Addison of St. Johns, a Sonida Senior Living community in Saint Augustine, FL, is hiring a Culinary Services Cook to plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals with an emphasis on safety and sanitation.

Ideal candidates hold a High School diploma, a Food Service Sanitation Certificate, and experience with volume meal preparation. Supervisory experience is a plus; join a supportive team with growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• HS or equivalent required.
• Food Service Sanitation Certificate required per state/local requirements.
• Experience with volume meal production for large groups preferred.
• Ability to read and understand recipes; strong teamwork and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and serve nutritious meals in a sanitary, organized, timely manner.
• Assist Culinary Services Director in dining services management.
• Prepare meals for assigned shifts and maintain service standards.
• Ensure meals meet quality, portion, and presentation expectations for residents.
• Keep dining areas and kitchen clean and organized; manage leftovers appropriately.

Culinary Services CookResponsibilities include:

• Plans, prepares, and serves attractive, nutritious meals in an organized, timely, and sanitary manner.
• Assists the Culinary Services Director in maintaining a well-organized and efficient Dining Services department.
• Prepares and serves meals for assigned shifts.
• Maintains standards for dining services to the Residents to include efficient meal service delivery, customer service and cleanliness of the dining room and kitchen.
• Clean after preparation and service; work area, pots and equipment.
• Ensures all leftovers are covered, labeled, dated and stored in the proper place.

Qualifications:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must possess Food Service Sanitation Certificate as per State/Local requirements.
• High Experience and/or knowledge of volume meal preparation and serving for large groups.
• Some supervisory experience preferred. Ability to read and understand recipes, work in a team environment, work flexible shifts, handle multiple tasks at one time and communicate effectively verbally and/or in writing
