Job summary

Aubergine Kitchen is seeking a Cook for the Morning Shift in Draper, UT. The role is part-time or full-time with hours 8am–3pm, Monday–Saturday, weekends included, closed Sundays.

Pay is $17.00/hr guaranteed, base plus tips, with opportunities for growth through onboarding and training. Responsibilities include roasting proteins, preparing hot sauces, maintaining temperatures, labeling and storing items, and coordinating with prep and line cooks.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
• Pace and precision in a high-demand environment; strong organization and attention to detail for recipe consistency.
• 25+ years old; prior experience in a restaurant or professional kitchen required.
• Onboarding and position-specific training; Food Handler Certificate within 14 days of hire (company-supported).
• Available up to 40 hrs/week (full-time or part-time) including weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities

• Roast proteins and prepare hot sauces per production orders and par levels, adjusting for customer flow.
• Follow proper cooling/reheating procedures; label, date, and store all items correctly; report shortages or quality issues immediately.
• Measure and record food temperatures at every stage (cooking, storing, cooling, reheating); rotate stock using FIFO.
• Keep your workstation clean, organized, and sanitized, following all health and safety practices every shift.
• Coordinate with prep and line cooks for continuous workflow; maintain shift notes for the next team; support other stations; assist training new team members; report equipment or safety issues to leadership.

Job Type: Full-Time & Part-Time

Pay: $17.00/hr guaranteed (base + tips)

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

• Ability to communicate in English, Spanish, or Portuguese.
• Pace and precision in a high-demand environment; strong organization and attention to detail for recipe consistency.
• 25+; prior experience in a restaurant or professional kitchen required.
• Completes Aubergine's onboarding and position-specific training; Food Handler Certificate within 14 days of hire (company-supported).
• Available up to 40 hrs/week (full-time or part-time) incl. weekends/holidays (closed Sundays, Thanksgiving, Christmas, July 4th).
• Able to stand/move for extended periods, lift/push/carry up to 50 lbs, and work around heat, steam, and cold.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Production & Cooking

Food Safety & Documentation
