Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan Morenci is seeking a guest services attendant for the Motel, Restaurant and Bar. You will greet guests, take orders, mix drinks, and ensure a positive dining experience in a busy, on-site setting.

You will balance cash, manage bar and kitchen prep, maintain clean, inviting spaces, and support room service when needed. The role requires English communication and the ability to work flexible shifts in a mine-adjacent environment.

Qualifications

• Must be able to obtain Arizona Food Handler's Card/Certification within one (1) month of employment
• Must have effective verbal and written communication skills
• Proficiency in the operation of a personal computer to include Microsoft applications
• Responsible for total guest experience and satisfaction
• Multitasking in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment required
• Ability to interact positively with the public essential to success

Responsibilities

• Greets guests, takes orders, and delivers food and beverages
• Makes alcoholic drinks for the dining rooms and to serve customers in the bar area; checks identification
• Balances cash receipts
• Performs portioning and inventory control to prepare a variety of foods, garnishes and all ingredients required for preparing dishes on the menu
• Cleans glasses, utensils, and bar equipment; Dishwashing
• Registers guests, assigns rooms, collects payments and answers the phone
• Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of the Hotel and Restaurant
• Delivers service items to guest rooms
• Perform other duties as required

Where You Will Work

Located approximately 50 miles northeast of Safford, Arizona on U.S. Highway 191, Morenci operations (an open‑pit copper mining complex) has been in continuous operation since 1939. The operation consists of two concentrators, crushed‑ore leach pad and stacking system, a low‑grade run‑of‑mine (ROM) leaching system; four SX plants; and three EW tank houses that produce copper cathode.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred

• Practical experience as a Line Cook or completion of a post‑secondary Culinary Arts training program or two (2) years of experience in Food Preparation

• Ability to understand and apply verbal and written work and safety‑related instructions and procedures given in English
• Ability to communicate in English with respect to job assignments, job procedures, and applicable safety standards

• Must be able to frequently sit, stand and walk
• Personal protective equipment is required when performing work in a mine, outdoor, manufacturing or plant environment, including hard hat, hearing protection, safety glasses, safety footwear, and as needed, respirator, rubber steel‑toe boots, protective clothing, gloves and any other protective equipment as required

What We Offer You

The estimated pay range for this role is currently$16.00 - $20.50/hour. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job‑related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance. More details will be shared during the hiring process.
