Job summary

Bally's Corporation in Dover, Delaware is seeking a Food Prep/Kitchen Attendant to prepare items to order, maintain quality, and support a clean, safe kitchen.

The role requires working under pressure during peak periods, following recipes and supervisor directions, with a focus on customer service and sanitation. Starting compensation is $18.50 per hour, in a union-represented setting, and benefits include transit reimbursement and free DART rides.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Prepares all food items properly in accordance with printed orders and plating instructions, avoids waste in preparation.
• Follows and prepares all items on the prep list or as otherwise told by the supervisor and maintains quality and fresh product.
• Rotates fruits, vegetables, and meats to ensure freshness and quality.
• Sets up the pantry and stocks all requisitioned supplies; keeps workstations neat and orderly.
• Maintains temperature checks with a calibrated thermometer to ensure food safety.
• Adheres to sanitation practices and uses gloves when handling food.
• Focuses on efficiency during rush periods and communicates with supervisors and guests as needed.
• Works safely following all safety rules and company policies.
• Participates in recycling program compliance and performs additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

• Prepares all food items properly in accordance with printed orders and plating instructions, avoids waste in preparation.
• Follows and prepares all items on the prep list or as otherwise told by the supervisor and maintains quality and fresh product.
• Ensures quality standards are maintained by visual inspection of vegetables, fruits and meats used. Rotates fruits and vegetables properly to maintain freshness.
• Sets up the pantry, obtains and distributes all requisitioned supplies. Stocks and cleans all kitchen areas. Keeps workstation neat and orderly.
• Carries a calibrated thermometer to check prepared food for proper and safe temperature.
• Maintains sanitation buckets with proper ratio of bleach to water.
• Uses protective gloves when preparing food.
• Prepares for a rush period of work without getting behind.
• Follows the instructions of supervisors.
• Handles pressure during peak hours.
• Provides exceptional customer service.
• Works safely, following all established safety rules and regulations.
• Communicates effectively with co-workers, supervisors and guests.
• Follows all relevant policies and procedures.
• Must comply with the company’s recycling program standards.
• Additional duties as assigned.
