Job summary

Hickory Creek at Sunset in Greencastle, IN is seeking a part-time Cook to join the ASC culinary team. You will follow recipes, prepare nutritious meals, and ensure sanitation standards are met for residents.

Responsibilities include leading kitchen tasks, preparing meals in required quantities, and maintaining a clean work area while complying with state and federal regulations. Previous institutional/healthcare food service experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 1–3 years related experience and/or training.
• Preferred: Sanitation/Safe Food Handling certification.
• Preferred: Prior institutional and/or healthcare service experience.

Responsibilities

• Follows recipes and prepares food that meets residents’ nutritional needs.
• Cooks or prepares meals in required quantities.
• Leads kitchen staff with food preparation and storage.
• Maintains a clean food service work area during service.
• Handles, stores, and disposes of food per procedures and regulations.

Education

High school diploma / GED or equivalent

One to three years related experience

Sanitation / Safe Food Handling certification (preferred)

Institutional / healthcare service experience (preferred)
