Qualifications

• At least 1 year of vessel deck management experience in offshore marine environments.
• Ability to perform galley duties at sea, including meal prep and clean up.
• Willingness to deploy at sea for up to 5 days at a time, up to 100 nautical miles offshore.
• Ability to adjust to changing schedules due to weather or emergency operations.
• Proven punctuality and professionalism.
• Ability to work offshore without becoming seasick and assist others with motion sickness.
• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 75 lbs.
• Current valid driver's license.
• First Aid, CPR, and AED certifications.

Cardinal Point Captains, Inc. is seeking Galley Mates to support vessel operations for the Flower Garden Banks National Marine Sanctuary, offshore from Galveston, Texas. These roles are seasonal and part-time, providing meal preparation and vessel support for research and outreach missions at sea. Ideal candidates are experienced in marine environments, adaptable to changing schedules, and comfortable working offshore for several days at a time.
