Position Overview:

Under general supervision, the Cook prepares appropriate amount of high-quality food for patients, staff, and customers in accordance with established recipes, menus, procedures, schedules and standards. Performs all responsibilities demonstrating service orientation to fellow employees, staff and customers.

EDUCATION

• Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.
• HS Diploma: High School Diploma or General Education (GED) or equivalent education/experience

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AS TYPICALLY ACQUIRED IN:

• Experience as a cook as typically obtained in five years.
• Experience in a large volume food production kitchen as typically obtained in five years.
• Hotel / restaurant background.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Knowledge of applied principles of nutrition relating to food preparation and service.
• Knowledge of proper sanitation and food temperature control.
• Able to perform non-complex arithmetic calculations.
• Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
• Ability to lift, push, and pull up to forty pounds.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English sufficiently in order to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Must have interpersonal skills to communicate well with fellow food production/service and management personnel, supervisory staff, and customers.

Pay Range is $33.98 to $37.95 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
