Job summary

Munson Healthcare is seeking a Cook II to support hospital food service operations. You will prepare, store and present meals while ensuring safety, sanitation, and quality. You will read recipes, manage time, and work with a team to meet patient and staff needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred; related culinary education welcomed.

• Uses effective customer service/interpersonal skills at all times.
• Safety is a self responsibility. Know the physical requirements of the job and work within those guidelines. Perform job duties safely at all times, utilizing learned body mechanics and transferring/lifting techniques. Plan your actions to promote safety. Report any unsafe situation/equipment according to hospital procedure.

Qualifications

What’s Required

• High school diploma or GED preferred. Additional education in related culinary field preferred.
• Demonstrates effective skills in all levels of food preparation, storage and presentation.
• Ability to read and expand recipes. Understand inventory, ordering and food rotation systems.
• Ability to work under elements of time pressure, frequent interruption of activities, and noise.
• Foodservice experience (hospital, nursing home, etc.) desirable.

Additional Information

Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
