Job summary

Coury Hospitality's Hard Rock Hotel San Diego is seeking a Cook II to join our culinary team. You’ll bring next-level skill, creativity, and consistency to a kitchen that supports high-volume events, banquets, and room service, delivering show-stopping dishes.

We want a seasoned cook with 2–3 years’ hotel or upscale experience, strong knife skills, timing, seasoning and plating, and the ability to thrive under pressure in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of professional cooking experience in a hotel, resort, or high-volume upscale environment.
• Strong culinary fundamentals - knife skills, timing, seasoning, and plating.
• Thrive under pressure and take genuine pride in your craft.
• Flexible availability including mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and plate dishes with precision, consistency, and creativity.
• Execute recipes and presentation standards for à la carte, banquets, buffet, and room service.
• Lead station setup, organization, and cleanliness - keeping everything show-ready.
• Support service during high-volume events with confidence and efficiency.
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation at all times.
• Assist with training and guiding Cook I team members, leading by example.
• Collaborate with culinary leadership to maintain quality and timing across all outlets.

Your Mission

As a Cook II, you’re a seasoned culinary pro with strong technique, excellent timing, and a passion for great food. You’ll support multiple outlets and service styles while delivering high-quality dishes that align with Hard Rock’s bold, elevated standards.

You are the steady, skilled backbone of the line - keeping the kitchen moving, the flavors rocking, and the presentation flawless.
