Job summary

Management & Training Corporation is hiring for a full-time kitchen position at the IAH Secure Adult Detention Facility in Livingston, Texas. You will prepare meals according to menus and supervise detainees assisting in the kitchen to ensure safe, sanitary operations.

The role requires a high school diploma, food service training or experience, and the ability to stand for long periods. A Texas driver’s license and food handlers permit within the first week are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Food service training, one year of food service or related experience and prior supervisory experience preferred.
• Must obtain a food handlers permit within the first week of employment and complete preservice training.
• A valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook quantity of food required according to menu and number of detainees.
• Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly workable condition. Ensure work area is safe, clean and sanitary at all times.
• Maintain accountability of kitchen tools.
• Prepare foods as directed for special facility functions and visitors and assist in cleaning kitchen work areas following each meal.
• Supervise detainees assigned to assist in the kitchen.
• Requires long periods of walking and standing and the pushing and pulling of food carts.

Work with a purpose! IAH Secure Adult Detention Facility located in Livingston, Texas, is now hiring career-minded people to assist with securing the safety of our community while positively impacting the lives of those on the inside.

What you'll do: You'll be responsible for the preparation of facility meals in accordance with pre-planned menus. Additional duties include:
