Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking a Hospital Cook in the Food & Nutrition - Patient Services department to prepare hot and cold meals for patients, cafeteria, physician's lounge and catering using standard kitchen and advanced cook-chill equipment.

The role emphasizes product quality, inventory communication to the Executive Chef or Supervisor, and building strong relationships with staff to ensure accurate patient trays and efficient meal service, including assisting with patient

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Weekend, holiday, and varied shifts required.
• Experience in high-volume hospital, institutional or restaurant cooking preferred.

• Prepares hot and cold food items according to standardized recipes.
• Uses standard kitchen and advanced cook-chill equipment.
• Ensures product quality and availability meet established standards with minimal waste.

Required Qualifications

• Must be able to work weekends, holidays, and other shifts as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prefer five (5) years of experience in high volume hospital, institutional or restaurant cooking preferred.
• Prefer ability to read and understand written instructions, recipes and various calculations preferred.
