Job Overview

Prepare food items according to production requirements and quality standards while maintaining a safe, sanitary work environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality, following recipes and standards.
• Start pre-prepared food items, ensuring not to prepare more than needed.
• Label and rotate food containers, keeping perishables at proper temperatures.
• Check inventory levels, prepare necessary items, and set up lines.
• Report shortages or out-of-stock items.
• Assist in stocking buffet items.
• Store unused food properly, covering and dating perishables.
• Help control food costs by minimizing waste and loss.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least one year of food service or related experience.

Knowledge & Skills

• Knowledge of cooking practices and kitchen procedures.

Physical Demands

• Lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying up to 70 lbs.
• Periodic climbing and bending.
• Full mobility and ability to travel throughout the work area.
• Continuous standing during shifts.
• Ability to hear timers and communicate effectively.
• Visual ability to monitor food preparation.

Work Environment

Inside during 100% of the shift; freezer temperatures can be -10°F, and kitchen temperatures can exceed 100°F.
