Qualifications

  • Prepare breakfast dishes including eggs, bacon, hot cereals, stews, soufflés, and similar dishes.
  • Operate standard cooking equipment such as mixers, steam cookers, toasters, choppers, refrigerators, ovens, and stoves.
  • Supervise and assist in kitchen cleaning, storage, and lead workers in food preparation.
  • Complete computerized production sheets in a neat and timely manner.
  • Perform related work as assigned by management.

Cook I (Late Night)

Position Summary: Skilled cooking work in the preparation of food for a Dining Commons. General and specialized food preparation under the supervision of a Cook II or Chef. Responsible for neatness, cleanliness, and adherence to schedules.

Shift schedule: 4:30 PM – 3:30 AM (four‑day schedule) with weekend work.

Salary: $17.523077 / hr.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare a wide variety of meats, fowl, fish, and vegetables for lunch and dinner.
  • Prepare breakfast dishes including eggs, bacon, hot cereal, stews, soufflés, and similar courses.
  • Operate standard cooking equipment such as mixing machines, steam cookers, toasters, food choppers, refrigerators, ovens, and stoves.
  • Supervise and assist in kitchen cleaning, refrigerator and storeroom maintenance; instruct and lead workers assisting in food preparation.
  • Complete computerized production sheets in a neat and timely manner.
  • Perform related work as assigned by management.

Physical Demands
  • Move loads up to 50 lbs, unload and stock products; perform push/pull activity with products weighing up to 30 lbs.
  • Perform duties with repetitive motion of wrists, arm, and shoulder; possess hand and finger coordination.
  • Reach, climb, balance, crouch, twist, crawl, and kneel; work in noisy, hot/cold environments with chemicals, cleaning equipment, dust, fumes, and odors.
  • Long hours standing.
