Sodexo is hiring a Cook I at CAPE FEAR VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER. The role requires flexibility with shifts and ensures meals are prepared safely, accurately, and appealingly for all service periods.

You will work in a fast-paced kitchen, follow Sodexo’s culinary standards, maintain clean workstations, and contribute to a high-quality dining experience for patients and staff. 18+ positions available with training and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High School diploma, GED or equivalent experience.
• 0 to 2 years of related work experience.
• Knowledge of basic operation of equipment and food-handling procedures preferred.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Good working knowledge of food preparation.
• Requires familiarity of kitchen equipment.
• Must be able to read and follow a recipe unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, cook and present hot and cold foods according to standards.
• Work in a fast-paced kitchen ensuring food safety and cleanliness.
• Support kitchen teamwork and maintain high quality and presentation.
• Follow recipes and product directions to meet production needs.
• Meet client requirements and adapt to account needs.
