Job description

Schedule: 24 hours per week. Weekdays 10:30am–2:30pm, every other weekend 11:30am–8:00pm, every other holiday.

Schedule & Compensation

Primary location: Liberty Campus. Employment type: Full‑time equivalent 0.6 (regular). Annualized pay range: $16.65 – $19.80 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Measure and mix ingredients according to recipes and cooking standards. Use kitchen utensils and equipment: scales, mixers, grinders, slicers.
  • Cook foods: bake, roast, broil, steam, fry meats, fish, vegetables and other items. Taste and adjust seasonings to improve flavor and texture.
  • Portion food correctly onto patient or guest trays as required.
  • Maintain safety and cleanliness standards. Follow Department of Health procedures for cleanliness, personal hygiene, and storage to ensure safe food production.
  • Attend required monthly in‑services and comply with infection‑control policies and procedures.
  • Planner role:
    • Review menus and production sheets to determine types and quantities of meats, vegetables, sauces, soups, casseroles, breakfast foods and desserts.
    • Plan cooking schedule to ensure foods are ready at specified times.
    • Prepare food items for cooking by washing, trimming and seasoning; prepare pre‑preparation items according to production.
  • Compliance role:
    • Assure adherence to CACFP requirements for food preparation, service, and menu planning.
    • Attend required training and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of CACFP rules.
  • Sanitation and conservation:
    • Complete transportation records for quantities prepared and record waste.
    • Handle food in a sanitary manner; maintain food at temperatures above 140°F or below 41°F.
    • Complete transportation logs according to established times.
  • Customer service:
    • Demonstrate effective customer service to fellow employees, customers, managers and visitors.
    • Follow CARES standards at all times.
  • Maintain departmental safety program and report safety concerns appropriately.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2years of work experience in a related job discipline.
  • Preferred: High school diploma or equivalent.
